Best VR Games for Android Phones

January 27, 2017 by Shrey Leave a Comment

Games in VR have given us the best experience of the VR technology so far. The best thing about VR is that you can access it even while using your smartphone through the smartphone-based VR headsets. There is no trouble of having wires strapped around your face and you can easily move around with a Bluetooth controller and a VR headset strapped on your face. Let’s look at a few best VR games that we have for Android Phones.

Table of Contents

  • 1. Fractal Combat X
  • 2. A chair in a Room
  • 3. Galaxy VR
  • 4. InCell VR
  • 5. Lamper VR: Firefly Rescue
  • 6. House of Terror VR
  • 7. VR Battle Helicopters
  • 8. EndSpace VR
  • 9. HardCode
  • 10. VR X-Racer

1. Fractal Combat X

Fractal Combat is a fighter jet game where you would be flying a jet and shooting all the enemy units (so typical :P). You can play it either in the VR mode or in the normal mode and in to enable the VR mode you need to change the settings accordingly. This game requires a controller since most of the controls are best handled with the help of one.

In the VR mode, you can use your head movements in order to enable the movement of the jet in the game but this can get you a little motion sick or dizzy after a while so it is best that you use a controller while playing the entire game. I use a GameSir G3s controller and you could use any Bluetooth controller that would go well with your phone.

2. A chair in a Room

This is a mystery game with a mix of a little creepiness and puzzles. It has a storyline and you would be frequented by a few ghost visits who would try to make you a better person. It sounds more like the Christmas carol but it is definitely one of those games that you should try on your android phone.

The game is very engaging and it is a nice thrill to play it till the end. Without spoiling anything for you, all I could say is you should definitely try this game. It is free to download and it is compatible with Google Cardboard headset and other VR headsets as well except the Gear VR.

3. Galaxy VR

One of the major reasons that I like the Galaxy VR is the graphics. It is a FPS game and is something similar to the EndSpace VR. The aerial fighting puts you into a cockpit and you are into some fairly immersive fighting. The game does require a Bluetooth controller, so do try out the game before you go ahead and buy it for around $3.

This game is really engaging and as you level up in the game, the fighting gets intense. This is one of the major reasons why this game is growing in popularity and is one of the most played android VR games today. Do try this game and let me know how you liked it in the comment section below.

4. InCell VR

InCell VR is another action game where you would be inside the human body and you are going to kill the destructive cells. The main aim of the game is to destroy all the viruses that can cause harm to the body. This game can be played in VR mode as well as normal mode like the Fractal Combat X.

The graphics of the game are amazing making this game worth your while. It can get you motion sick with all the movements and the space travel within a huge pond of human cells. Being a bit careful and taking short breaks in between can really help. This entire game has an amazing gameplay and is a must try if you are new to the VR world.

5. Lamper VR: Firefly Rescue

Lamper the Firefly is a lightning bug and how he tries to defeat the spiders who have invaded the Firefly Kingdom. Explore the beautiful woods and recruit your friends on an epic adventure. It involves using different ways to blow up your enemies and kill them which for some reason is very satisfying, LOL.

The gameplay is great, however, I would not say it is as good as the realistic VR titles we have with the Rift but it is good enough for a smartphone-based VR. Check out the game and let us know how you liked it in the comment section below.

6. House of Terror VR

House of terror might be one of the best VR games you have played and it has amazing graphics for a Google Cardboard supported game. It is one game where you go out in search of objects and try solving puzzles and at the same time keep running away from ghosts that haunt you in the journey.

You need to be a little careful with the controls since that can be a problem, it is better if you use a controller with this game which will help you make the gameplay more immersive and engaging.

7. VR Battle Helicopters

This is an arcade game where you would be flying a helicopter and need to attack your enemies by taking down their helicopters. It is a fun and simple game and it feels amazing to play this game in VR. It has a full 360-degree head tracking and is one of the best VR experience on a smartphone.

It is pretty addictive and a nice shooting game which is Google Cardboard compatible. It must be clear by now that most of the Google Cardboard compatible games can be played on other VR headsets as well!

8. EndSpace VR

EndSpace is a first person game where you would be shooting your enemies while sitting inside a cockpit. The game is not that easy to get through since you would be swarmed by a bunch of enemies and you need to save your ass by shooting down all of them.

You also have upgrades, scoreboards and other things in the game that make it more exciting and competitive. The gameplay is amazing which includes the top-notch graphics and other reasons making the overall experience immersive. It is safe to say that EndSpace VR is one of the best VR games for Android phones.

9. HardCode

This game can be played in a third person perspective and it is a shooting game where you will be targeting your enemy target with the help of your head movements. It has both single player and multiplayer missions and as usual, the multiplayer missions are way more fun than the single player ones.

The game requires a gamepad and it will be difficult for you to play the game without having one. The game does look animated so that graphics can’t be accounted as something that makes you feel you are on a real life mission but it pretty much does the job. The game is pretty addictive and I do suggest you try it out.

10. VR X-Racer

In this game, you are trying to run on a path and avoiding obstacles. It is all about increasing your score points and surviving in the game for as long as possible. It is a relatively simple game but very addictive like other simple survival games which are very easy to get addicted to.

The game can be played with a gamepad or without one, it is optional to use a gamepad. It is a free game and do check out the video trailer of the game below.
