Everything you need to know about HTC Vive Pro!

January 17, 2018 by Shrey Leave a Comment

This year, HTC is coming with a VR headset HTC Vive Pro that has features much better than the existing consumer version of the Vive. The new HTC Vive Pro is going to have a much better resolution, comfort and most of the features as it is designed for professional gamers and developers.

Display

HTC is planning to release this version for professionals and hence it is going to have the best features and might be on the expensive side as well. The resolution on the lenses of the headset is 2880 x 1600 in comparison to the 2160 x 1200 resolution in the current consumer Vive version.

This increase in resolution is going to give you a much-enhanced gameplay experience. You can see words clearly from a distance and other fine visual details much better in the HTC Vive Pro. However, the FOV is not having any new changes and you might have to just deal with that but the bump in the resolution sure feels great.

There are no more pixelated screens and this definitely gives a really enhanced immersive experience. The bump in resolution can open up various opportunities for using this VR headset in various other fields.

Comfort

With the release of games like Fallout 4 from Bethesda, we are going to have hours of gameplay in VR which implies that you might need a VR headset that is comfortable. There were quite a few complaints in the current Vive that it is bulky and difficult to adjust the headset.

This has been taken care of in the HTC Vive pro, it is going to be the most comfortable VR headset and it will enable you to play for some really long hours without any problems with the comfort and other factors on the headset.

This Pro version of the VR headset is being designed keeping the professional gamers in mind, so when it comes to giving you the best the comfort level, HTC Vive Pro is at it!

Other Upgraded features

The Vive Pro is an amped version of the HTC Vive VR headset. The Pro headset has a hint of blue color along with the additional cameras right in front of the headset which gives it a premium look. The clutter in the Pro is minimised in comparison to the Vive.

If you are someone who wears glasses then you can

The new Vive Pro is including a second camera which will open up new possibilities to augmented reality. The Headset will come with better sensors and controllers. The room space tracking of the headset is going to be 10X10 meters which is pretty huge in comparison to the Vive and is specifically for Professional use.

The Vive is going to have some high resolution as well making the VR experience more premium than ever before. The Pro VR headset is designed for professionals or developers who would want to use the VR headset to create accurate detailed VR experiences.

Some Games that might make you buy the HTC Vive Pro…

The Vive Pro is specifically designed with a higher comfort level and a better performance for all the long hours of gameplay that VR games like Fallout 4 or the Doom VR have to offer. The games have some really long hours of gameplay and playing that with the regular Vive can get a little tiring.

With more such games (with long hours of gameplay) in the making, it is quite important that the Vive is comfortable and enhances the gameplay experience rather than making the user feel tired by the end of every gaming session. This is the reason we have the Pro although there might be a limited release in a few areas initially.

Release of the HTC Vive Pro

The hardware would be released somewhere around the first quarter of this year and the improved base stations and controllers would be released in the next quarter of the year. There is a lot to look forward to in the VR niche this year.

For all the existing Vive owners, well you are going to have much better experiences when it comes to VR. Well, once we have the price of the new HTC Vive Pro out, we could discuss more on this VR headset, what do you think about the Vive Pro?
