It was known during the launch of the big guns like Oculus Rift and the Vive that the Apple ecosystem could not support the high specs demands of these VR headsets. With the VR technology getting more promising by the day, Apple finally decides to bring Steam VR to Mac. There are more announcements related to this topic that would be made later this year and we would get to know more on when we could finally experience VR in Mac.
Although, I must admit that previously it just seemed impossible for VR tech to get along with Mac and it is quite amusing that there was no news about this yet. However, seeing Acer and other companies partnering to make VR headsets it is quite evident that the VR industry has some great potential and finally, Apple wants a piece of the pie as well.
This year would definitely be more interesting with so many VR headset launches in line and with the Mac supporting Steam VR, we would definitely have a lot of talk about on this topic. Apple is going to support the specs that are needed for VR and we would definitely hear more specific details on this with time.
Vive apparently is doing great by partnering with the best companies which include Google, Intel, and Apple. The Vive is definitely going to stay since there are ton loads of developments we see happening with it almost every day.
