The Oculus had announced about the new Gear VR a few days back and the updated and revamped version along with the controller is available from Apri 21, 2017. The new Samsung Gear VR has been a new home page which is built from the ground up and which is much faster than it was in the previous Gear VR models.
The new Gear VR even has a remote controller which is similar to that oft he Daydream VR’s controller to look. The Gear VR remote controller has been launched alongside 70 new titles in which 20 titles would be accessible during the release and the rest 50 will be coming soon in the next few months.
A small excerpt from the Oculus Blog says-
“Today, we’re beginning to roll out our biggest mobile platform update yet. We’ve rebuilt Oculus Home from the ground up, reducing load times by up to 3x! That gets you into VR faster, while our new Explore feature makes it easy to find great content and play videos in VR. Plus, we’ve brought unprecedented graphic clarity to mobile VR, with twice the pixel resolution in Home—think of it like upgrading from Standard Definition to High Definition.
The update will make its way to all Gear VR owners over the next few weeks.”
Games on the new Rift
The existing games can be played with the touchpad and there are new games that are constantly being added to the list beginning with the 20 new launch titles for the new remote controller of the Oculus Rift.
The remote controller enables new gesture in VR which takes gaming on the Gear VR to another level and is one fo the best updates that we have seen so far. It is really going to be a revamped version of the previous VR headset and is definitely having new experiences in store for all of us.

According to Oculus, there is still more to come and around 50 games are under development and would be released soon. There is a lot of changes that you are going to see with the new Oculus 2017 version and the controller has just added to the charm.
The VR browsing!
Yes, you heard it right, with the new Oculus browser that is available in with the Gear VR you can perform web searches directly from Home.You can navigate through you favorite sites like Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube just the way you would do on your laptop.
So through the new software, you get all the 2 D content and the 360-degree videos directly to Oculus Home with all the new updates and benefits. There are more apps and content that would be soon released on the brand new Gear VR and with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ launch, there is really a lot to expect in the coming year from the Gear VR.
The new Gear VR bundled with the controller is priced at $130 and if you just want to purchase the remote controller then it is priced at $39. The new Gear VR hits the shelves on 21 April 2017.
