The PlayStation VR headset was the final VR entry among the PC VR headsets which included the race between the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. The PlayStation VR is the best VR headset for all the console owners and it is definitely a buy if you have a PS4 and want a VR headset that would go along with it. It is a cheaper alternative to the Rift and the Vive making it one of the affordable gaming VR headsets, let’s look at the top 10 games on the PlayStation VR that you should check out right now!
1. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
This game is being played by everyone at the moment, although I finished playing this game yesterday, all I can say is that the game is really scary! The spooky tunnels and the monster attacking you from every possible direction add up to make it a horror game that you should not play in the night.
With the VR headset on, the entire gameplay is immersive and highly detailed. It is an amazing experience and everyone should try this game on VR but please put on balls of steel before you go ahead and play the game on VR because it is disturbingly scary! If you are a big fan of horror games and want to challenge yourself then the Resident Evil is definitely worth your try.
2. Eagle Flight
This is one of the best Flight simulator games because the player in the game is embodied in an eagle and you can fly across different places in Paris. This game has beautiful views and breathtaking sceneries especially when you fly above all the buildings and other man-made creations. The game has beautiful detailing and awesome graphics.
The multiplayer game in Eagle flight gets really competitive and it feels amazing when you compete by flying over and under the bridges which are more like a racing game but this time it is you who will crash into objects if not careful. The gameplay is really engaging and one cannot stop playing this game so all the PlayStation VR users can check out the game on Amazon but before that check out the video trailer of the game.
3. The Brookhaven Experiment
The Brookhaven experiment is one of the most amazing games which will take you to the environment of The walking dead and is more like a narrative game making it overall amazing gaming experience. The storytelling really gets you excited and thrilled along with the post-apocalypse situation which is really scary.
One of the scariest horror games that one could play on the PlayStation VR, the Brookhaven Experiment is one of the best games where you need to keep shooting all the creepy and disgusting monsters that come your way. This game is definitely going to be one of the best horror games we have in VR.
4. EVE: Valkyrie
Eve: Valkyrie is one of the games which debuted to VR directly. Developed by CCP, this is a multiplayer shooting game which was first introduced to Oculus Rift and now the developers have enabled cross playing between the three VR headsets which are the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR.
This is a first person game where you are a pilot killing your enemies while you are in a spaceship. It may sound like the plain old boring shooting game but trust me it gets a lot better in VR. The plot may not be something major or engaging but the way the gameplay has been designed in VR is impressive. The fact that you need to move your head and target the enemy spaceship makes the gameplay experience very immersive.
5. Robinson: The Journey on PS VR
This PS VR game is more about exploration. The protagonist of this game is Robin who gets stranded on an isolated planet. On his journey, he has a flying object as his company which guides him in situations and even has a baby Tyrannosaur as his friend. The game involves puzzles and a lot of traveling on the unknown planet which leads Robin to new situations.
You will be solving a few riddles and puzzles every now and then which makes the game pretty interesting to play. There would be times when you need to run from various creatures and you would play the entire game using you Move controllers. The storyline of the game is interesting which keeps the player’s interest invested in the game for a really long time. Check out the video trailer and see for yourself how immersive this gameplay can get with the beautiful graphics.
6. Batman Arkham VR
The is the fourth series of the Batman franchise is the Batman: Arkham Knight which is pretty much a conclusion to this series of games. This is the game which has been finally adapted to VR and we were able to get the entire game on the launch day of the PlayStation VR. The plot here involves the interaction of Batman with Scarecrow who has attacked Gotham city and teams up with the Arkham Knight to finally destroy Batman.
Motion sickness was tactfully handled by the RockSteady Studios for this game, as there are a few movements in the game where you could get a slight sensation of being nauseated although if the movements in the game aren’t way too fast, then it can be avoided. The overall gaming experience on this title is amazing and it is definitely worth the money.
7. Rise of the Tomb Raider
One of the best adventure games where you get the chance to be Lara Croft. Sony PlayStation VR has been doing really well when it comes to giving all fans an opportunity to be their favorite gaming character in VR. For me, it was Batman and Lara Croft that really made VR experience on the PlayStation VR different from that of the experiences on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
You even have a third person standard option but that is just plain boring and I would recommend that you step into Lara’s shoes and investigate and explore the croft Manor. It is one of the best experiences one can ever ask for and this is the best way one can possibly spend their time on VR and i.e. by being Lara Croft.
8. Driveclub VR
The gameplay mostly involves around joining a club or forming one and then competing with the other clubs to figure out which one is the best.Races happen in different locations and you could challenge players from the social leaderboards, play with other clubs and compete in online races.
The gaming is being adopted with the Sony PlayStation VR which would take this gaming experience in the VR world making it a totally different experience. While playing in 2D, you either have behind-the-car chase camera or the cockpit view, but in the case of VR, I think it is more likely to make the game from a first person perspective so you need to be in the cockpit view for an immersive experience.
In this game, you are a little girl who is captivated in a tiny room and soon realizes that she possess tiny stones known as the Golem. These stones hold magical powers and help her to escape her room and soon she ends up exploring the world around her.
However, the story does not end on exploration but also includes a battle between her and other monsters which come her way while exploring the world around her. You will have to be quick with your Move controllers on Blocking attacks and other demons from harming you. This would remind you more of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword but the entire game is in the first person and in VR.
10. Here They Lie
If the Resident Evil was not enough, Sony brings in the title Here They Lie which is another horror title and has enough content to make it interesting and frightening, both at the same time. Although you might feel this one a little bit more freaky than the Resident Evil.
The game is about a girl who waits for her train which never arrives on the station but ends up exploring the creepy subway where she finds unusual events taking place. It is definitely going to give you the creeps of your lifetime and is also one of the best horror games that had followed up with the release of Sony PlayStation VR.
