Top 5 Free VR games for Android Phones

March 20, 2017 by Shrey Leave a Comment

There are a lot of VR games releasing every day, so in this top 5 Free VR games for Android Phones there would be a list of 5 free VR games that we review. It will be a mix of games from different genres and if you have any favorites you want to recommend us to review then feel free to mention them in the comment section below.

For now, let us look at the top 5 free VR games for Android phones that we have in store this week.

Table of Contents

  • 1. VR X-Racer
  • 2. House Of Terror VR
  • 3. The Fear
  • 4. Final Kick
  • 5. VR: Plank Walking Height

1. VR X-Racer

App Rating: 4.4

Price: Free

This VR game is very simple and involves you trying to save your falcon(spaceship) by successfully dodging the obstacles that come your way. You need to travel as far as you can without hitting any pillars/obstacles in order to have a high score.

The game sounds really simple and is actually quite simple to play. Your head movements decide the motion of the spaceship in the game and that is pretty cool. Although it was a good idea to actually have the head tracking involved in the game, I did feel a bit dizzy after a while and it was pretty annoying for me to keep playing the game that way.

Moreover, as you move forward in the game you would realize that you need to be even faster and moving your head sideways that fast can get you motion sick. The game has a good rating but I think I would really prefer not playing it in the VR mode. The game can be pretty addictive and it will take some time for anyone to understand the controls.

You can collect points and purchase different falcons which were interesting but in my case, everything comes down to the fact that I have migraine problems making this game better off without the VR mode ON. However, there are many players who found the tilting your head and playing this game concept interesting so you should definitely give it a try.

2. House Of Terror VR

App Rating: 3.9

Price: Free (In app purchases)

Being one of the best free horror games, Hose of terror is really scary. The sound effects and the entire environment in which you find yourself in the game sent a chill down my spine. The game is pretty good where you need to search for clues and objects.

The mystery unravels as you proceed in the game which reminded me a bit of the Resident Evil:7, although it would be a crime to compare the two because Resident Evil was scary as shit and only a few could play that game in VR without wetting their pants. The game format is similar but it is on a smaller scale and it is scary.

There are going to be times where you need to fight back the monsters and those were the times when my heart started pounding, the graphics are not bad for an android VR game and I pretty much liked the game. Do go ahead and try this game and leave your thoughts about it in the comment section below.

3. The Fear

App Rating: 4.3

Price: Free(in app purchases)

Another horror VR game that I have been playing lately, it is scary AF. It started off okay and then there comes a little bit of narration where you are the protagonist and you are driving a car. You can see your wife and kid sitting right beside you and suddenly something goes wrong and they disappear.

The next thing you know there is something on your car window and it scares the shit out of me. That was a bit scary, a typical horror game jump scare but it worked! Lol. With the scary music and the immersive narration, I actually got pretty scared when I saw the ghost of a female on the window.

Then the game begins where you start exploring and the game starts off pretty well, however, towards the end it started getting a little boring. Too many ads that get displayed and there were a few people who found places where the game has bugs, hopefully, they would fix that but I just rested my case after playing half the game. The game could have been better but it still is pretty good enough for someone to try it out. The graphics is good and the story is interesting for the players to be engaged in the game.

4. Final Kick

Rating: 4.1

Price: Free(in app purchases)

This game is all about shooting the penalty shots as if it were the football finals and you are playing at a very intense moment in the game. As the name suggests the game is all about the final kick and it is entertaining to play online tournaments against other players. The game also has a couple of offline tournaments which you can play to practice your shots.

The graphics of the game is really amazing and it is pretty dope for a VR game, however, I feel they could have done a bit more with the game. I got ads constantly being displayed which was pretty annoying and after a while just got bored by just shooting some penalty kicks. I think I wanted the game to be a bit more than that and wanted more of football in it.

For a VR game, it is pretty amazing and something that you must surely try out. I had fun playing online tournaments and it can get addictive after a while. The VR component in the game did not make much of a difference, I guess they could use the VR aspect to make the game much better than it is already.

5. VR: Plank Walking Height

App Rating: 3.3/5

Price: FREE

This game is for those who are scared of heights and since I’m scared of heights, I did give this app a try. This is not a game but more like a video where you are walking on a plank and the plank is placed really high from the ground level.

For someone who is scared of heights, this was a little terrifying, however, as an app, I guess it is a little boring since you do not have to do anything and the person just keeps moving. I guess, they should have given movement controls so that we could decide if we want to move or take a pause and look around.

The game would be terrifying if we had to balance on the plank because I cannot imagine falling from that height even in a game! The app is a little annoying as it took a lot of time to load the walk and even contained hell lot of ads which just made the game less immersive. I guess once they fix these issues and include more tasks in the game, it could be a really fun adventure game to play with mobile VR headsets.

This was the current top 5 games which I could review, until the next post where you would find reviews on more VR games for android phones. If you have any thoughts or comments then leave them in the comment section below.

If you liked the post then do not forget to share it with your family and friends on Social media.
