This year we are going to see a lot of standalone VR headsets coming out which implies that the VR technology is definitely here to stay. There have been a lot of updates for this year and it is extremely shocking when you look at them since around the same time last year, we were expecting the release of PlayStation VR on October 13.
Well, VR has come a long way since then and for now, we are going to have a few standalone VR headsets and more PC based VR headsets by the end of this year. HTC Vive is a new contender in the standalone VR headset niche and it is said that this headset would be launched by the end of this year.
The HTC Vive’s new standalone VR headset which is going to have all the processing unit in the VR headset and this standalone headset is not going to need any mobile phones or tethered to any PC. The new standalone headset is sure interesting and is going to be best VR headset that we would see this year. The VR headset is going to have a controller similar to that we have seen on the Daydream VR and the Oculus Rift.
However, there will just be a difference in the distribution of the software in China and the rest of the Western Countries. But there would be the availability of the headset in all the countries. There is not too much of information out there about this VR headset but it does sound interesting and for someone who is a VR enthusiast, I just can’t wait to see a standalone VR headset!
Hopefully, this VR headset will be launched by the end of the year, although there are no certain launch dates that have been yet announced.
