Wilson’s Heart is a first person game where you play the role of the protagonist whose heart has been replaced by a device. This psychological thriller will take you on a wild adventure where you try to figure out what exactly happened to you and how you got to the hospital.
The game is totally heavy on the narrative and it does have a horror element in it due to the sound effects and the environment in which the game is set up. The protagonist Robert Wilson’s voice over is pretty good as it gives the character a tough personality. The game slightly reminded me of Max Payne although they have a lot of things that are not in common but it sure does bring in a lot of the same elements. However, let me know in the comments section if you too found a slight similarity between the two games(although the storyline was pretty different)
The game involves looking through the drawers and other places in the hospital and finding as many clues as possible. There would be a lot of newspapers, comic strips and other information that you might need to go through to understand what exactly is happening around you. There are many occasions where you will try to escape a few demons and fight in order to not get killed in the process.
Well there are a lot of flashbacks and initially, it will be a little confusing for anyone on what exactly is happening but as the game progresses you get used to these tiny bits of information from the past. The entire game is indeed immersive and playing it in VR is one of the best experiences.
There is a lot of detail given to each of the characters and they look real when viewed in VR. The touch controllers have been used very well by helping gamers to interact with various objects within the game. The fact that you actually have a conversation with different characters in the game makes it look uncomfortably real.
Your mechanical heart comes in aid when you are battling it out with a demon. There are only a few ways that you can activate your mechanical heart and if not done properly then it can end up in a tragic death of your character. This part is a little annoying but then it is all a part of the game and you eventually get used to it.
