1. Updating your software
Sometimes the reason for the drift off could be that the Google Daydream software is not updated.
This has happened to quite a few users of the Daydream view and it is something that you might want to consider as it just takes 5 minutes to solve the issue of Drift off.
You can even update the phone software and see if that helps in case updating the Google Daydream software did not work in the first place.
These two updates are the first thing you should look for while trying to fix the drift issue with the remote because if they are the issue then it is easy to fix.
2. Overheating
If you have the Google Daydream 2016 version which is the first version of the headset, then the drift issue can possibly be due to the overheating of the phone in your headset.
If you are playing a game for a really long time and the drift issue has suddenly knocked your doors then it is probably because of overheating and you might want to let your phone cool down for a while.
You can even consider charging your remote controller as many users have reported that the drift issue happens when the controller is towards the end of the charge. So, make sure you next check on these two issues.
If you own the Daydream 2017 edition then you might probably want to check out the next suggestion in the list.
3. Pressure
When the phone is placed against the View, in some of the cases there might be some pressure on the phone which would cause the drift.
This is possible and many people have this issue, so make sure that there is no unusual pressure on the phone and you are going to have the drift problem.
The only solution you can do is insert your phone carefully and make sure that you avoid this from happening, if the problem continues even after you have tried everything then you might want to contact support
4. Taping the controller
This is something unusual and rare but apparently many people have done it and got the drift issue corrected, so there is no harm in trying it out.
Just turn around your controller and tap the back where the touchpad on the remote. You might find that this would correct the drift issue and this should probably be the last thing that you want to try out.
5. Replacement
Many people have faced the drift issue and whoever owns a Daydream VR knows what we are talking about. If you are having all the problem even after trying everything mentioned above then you should contact Google Support.
Many people have even tried getting their remote replaced which is a possibility so if none of the tips suggested by Google Support work then you can ask for a replacement.
This issue has been pretty common with all the DayDream VR owners and we hope that this post was of some help.
