Initially, I was very skeptical about VR social experience however, there are a few apps out there that really did change my perspective.
Through VR Social apps you can chat with friends or play games but in the VR. This way your friend can stay in another country but if he owns a VR headset then he can join you in a VR social app.
This can really help you connect with your friends who now live in another city and you can enjoy some fun time with them by indulging in these apps.

Table of Contents
1. VR Chat
VR Chat is probably one of the most interesting social apps where you can actually run into strangers and can even make some new friends.
In the app, you can create your own avatar and it reminds me of Runescape but only that there is a VR aspect added to it and you can actually talk to other avatars that you see around yourself.
You can see a few Youtubers use this app a lot and I must admit that it is fun and you can talk and discuss whatever you want to with the other characters.
You can even modify the environment around you depending on your liking making the app have a new look making the experiences even more interesting and different.
2. vTime
Unlike VR Chat where you get to choose an avatar and be a character, vTime is more for casual sitting around in a particular environment and just talking.
This can mean you are sitting on a beach in Hawaii or just in the woods discussing something. vTime is great for just discussing something and even for storytelling.
If you just want to interact with your friend who lives in a totally different city or country then vTime can really help you with that. Overall, we found the vTime a pleasant app where you can interact with your friends and colleagues.
Yes, you can use the app for meetings as well as you are not going to be disturbed by anyone. If you want to enjoy some 360-degree view and get some work done then this might be the perfect VR social app.
3. Rec Room
Rec Room is another VR Social app where you can easily play games with your friends in VR. This social app involves some form of activity so it is not going to be like the others where you can lounge and enjoy the view.
You are going to be into some activities and you can share them with your friends who own a VR headset.
Rec Room has a lot of things to do and if you are someone who loves to just roam around in VR and play some games on the way then you should definitely check out this app.
This app is one of our favorites on our list as it is very light and you do find some interesting activities that you can do with people and socialize at the same time.

4. Sansar
Sansar is another VR social app where a user can create their own VR environment. Yes, this is possible and you do not need to know to code for this as it is all easy to do inside the apps with the help of all the tools provided.
Other can explore your space and this makes the app really fun and interesting. You can even explore spaces created by others and you do not need to create an environment to enjoy the app.
The app is available on the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.
The graphics on the Sansar app is pretty sharp and realistic in comparison with most of the social VR app which truly shows the efforts of the developers to make it stand apart in terms of quality from the other VR social apps in the market.
5. Facebook Spaces
This is probably the most interesting and awaited VR App. Facebook spaces take the normal social networking website Facebook and give it a VR uplift.
So imagine Facebook in VR, at least this is the idea for the app, however, the app is limited at the moment as not many people have Oculus Rift.
Moreover, it is not easy to make friends with strangers on the app and the most that you can do is connect with a friend whom you know.
You sure can play games and do some other fun activities on the app but making friends is not as easy as it was on the other apps where you could easily connect with strangers.
Overall, the app is fun and we would definitely see more of it in the future but as of now, the possibilities are quite limited.
