If you want to have a smooth and amazing gameplay then it is not a secret that you do need an amazing gamepad. Any android gamepad that works well with your phone and VR headset would do just fine.
However, there are quite a few issues that you would come across while using gamepads for your gameplay sessions and these are the tips that you such consider to avoid such issues.
1. Choose an Android Controller
This is probably the most basic tip anyone could give you as since you are using your android phone with the Gear VR, it is obvious that you would go with the android controller.
However, there are many people that miss this point and sometimes you just get carried away with a good controller that you forget to check.
There are quite a few amazing controllers that you can go for like the GameSir 3S and Moga controllers.
The Steelstrauss is a good controller as well but many people have reported some issues with the pairing and hence we would refrain from recommending it.
Bottom line, you need to have a controller that works amazingly well with your phone and the iPhone compatible would work with android phones but not that well so make sure to get a controller that works well with your Samsung phone without any connectivity issues.
2. Charge the controller in order to avoid losing connectivity
There are controllers that come with batteries inbuilt and you just have to charge them with the USB cable as well as you have controllers that need batteries to be inserted inside them.
In both the cases, you have to charge your controller pretty well so that you do not lose the connectivity to your phone.
It is really frustrating when you realize in between a gameplay that your controller is out of charge.
The same goes with your phone as well, you might want to charge your phone as you are going to connect both of them via Bluetooth and we all know that sucks a lot of battery from both the devices.
3. Make sure you restart your phone after an update
Many users have reported issues after having an Oculus update that the controller does not sync well. This can be your case as well and if you have recently updated your software and have observed your controller acting up then it might be time to restart your phone.
This can cause some connectivity issues and there might be some problems in the sync so it is best that you try connecting after restarting the phone.
So these are the basic issues that you can have with your controller. If you have had any other issues then let us know in the comments section and we would be happy to help!
