VR Porn is one of the hottest topics in the VR niche. Recently I got in touch with the CEO of VRporn.com, Daniel Peterson who has a niche site on VR porn and he had a lot to share on the topic. Here are a few one on one questions that I asked him and if you are into this niche or a fan of the blog then this is a must read!
Tell us a bit about your site VRporn.com and how did you get started with it?
VRPorn.com actually started as my personal VR fan blog. I’ve always loved the idea of VR but for most of my life, it seemed like science fiction. Then in 2013, I tried an early Oculus prototype and saw that VR was actually a lot closer than people realized.
How did you think of this niche back in 2013 because that was the time when we had very few selective VR headsets and no one knew the future of Virtual Reality?
Back in 2013, the technology was still a bit rough around the edges, but I knew it would continue to improve exponentially. It was a new tech mega trend like smartphones and the internet. It was obvious to me, and it soon became obvious to everyone else, that VR porn was going to be a huge thing. There would be millions of people searching for VR porn every month, and this number would only grow as time went on.
Did you face any setbacks while starting out since VR was a relatively new technology or did it ever cross your mind that maybe VR porn is not here to stay?
I think everyone has doubts when they start a new business. This is especially true for entrepreneurs in the tech field because of how naturally volatile the industry is. That being said, I’ve always believed that mass VR adoption is inevitable and it’s only the exact timeline of events that are really in doubt.
We have too many VR porn sites out now but what was it like back in 2013, were there as many VR porn sites like the ones we have in 2017?
There has definitely been a large increase of VR porn sites. In 2013 there was very little out there, but this was mainly because the market was so new. The only VR device available at the time was the Oculus developer kit, which was not meant for consumers. Now headsets are much more widely available and that means a larger audience for VR porn. All the new sites are just a response to the increased demand.
How do you find the VR porn industry changed from 2013 which was when you started to 2017?
In the early days of VR, porn studios were still scrambling to solve technical issues like scale and resolution. VR video recording was still extremely new so there wasn’t just some playbook the studios could refer to that would tell them the best equipment setup and editing process. There was a lot of trial and error in those days and much of the content reflected that. Now, even the smaller studios are producing some really high-quality scenes and it’s incredible to see how much VR videography has evolved in just a few short years.
Most of the people are quite interested in the immersive VR experience that VR porn has to offer, do you think that this could possibly increase sales in VR headsets?
There’s no doubt that VR porn has done wonders for the advancement of the medium as a whole. Not only has it resulted in higher sales numbers but it’s also brought a ton of investment to the VR industry. It’s difficult to measure exactly what percentage of VR headset sales are the result of VR porn but it’s safe to say that it’s a very sizeable number.
Most of my readers ask this question and I think it is best if you being an expert in the niche answer this- ‘ There is a lot of free VR Porn content out there, then why should I pay for Porn?’
At vrporn.com we actually have more free VR porn than any other site so we definitely believe there is a place in the market for free content. But it can’t all be free or else nobody will fund VR development. The thing about VR is that it’s a constantly evolving technology, so often you’ll find the newest and best stuff lives behind a paywall. This is in contrast to “normal” porn videos which haven’t changed much in years.
Let’s end the interview on an interesting note-
Tell us one feature about these popular VR sites that set them apart-
Naughty America
When I think of Naughty America I think of big name actresses. This studio is known for having some of the hottest talents in the industry and they never compromise when it comes to quality.
BadoinkVR
I think BaDoink VR’s advantage lies in their presentation. Everything from the colorful sets to the creative role play just looks extremely polished. This is a studio that doesn’t overlook the little things and that’s definitely something to be commended.
WankzVR
WankzVR has some of the longest videos in the industry with many of their scenes even approaching the 60-minute mark. The extended cuts and talented directing really bring the best out of the stars and push the medium to its limits. Oh, and they have some of the most beautiful actresses.
Well, the above-mentioned sites are paid sites and if you want to know more on their membership details then check out the best VR porn sites blog post on the website. If you want some free content then check out the VRporn.com blog!
Starting a website on Virtual Reality can be really difficult since technology has something new every day and it can sometimes get difficult to adapt to change, I personally have found that when it comes to VR adult content there is more engagement than other posts about VR which is pretty obvious that it is here to stay and the fact that people like another dimension to their videos.
