Homido is a french company and has been proving its brand value ever since it entered the VR market. Homido has launched some of the best selling VR products like the Homido VR headset, Homido V2 VR headset which is an improvement over the previous VR headset and the Homido Grab VR headset which is more like an improved version of the Google Cardboard.
Homido Mini review would give you all the details about one of the new VR releases by Homido which is the Homido Mini- the pocket VR headset. It is extremely light in weight and easy to carry anywhere. It is convenient and one of the easiest ways that one could enjoy VR experiences on their phones.

What I liked about Homido Mini
1. Homido Mini is a foldable VR headset and it is really easy to carry around anywhere with you. It is perfect if you want to show someone a VR Demo or watch 360-degree videos in VR.
2. The fact that there is some space between the VR headset and the phone leaves a lot of room for you to touch your phone screen and select menu options manually making the navigation easier(although it is a weird way but you would end up doing it even in the conventional VR headsets).
3. It is really light and all you need to do is hold it right in front of your face to get into the VR world. It has no straps or any other way to secure the lenses to your head, so, yes it is not hands-free VR experience. It is more like the younger version of the Homido Grab.
4. You could carry it in your pocket which is really cool. I haven’t seen any VR headset that gives you the freedom to basically fold your headset and carry it along with you where ever you go. If you are a VR game developer then this must be one of the best products from Homido you might ever find.
5. You can easily clip it on your phone and it can fit all the phone from screen sizes of 4″ to 6″. The phone can be android or iPhone, it works well in both the cases. There are lower chances of the clip scratching your screen so you don’t need to worry about that.
6. There are no ventilation issues which usually happens in the case of closed VR headsets. There is no heating up of the phone in the first place so you could enjoy this VR glasses on your phone as long as you want without suffering from the typical overheating issue.
What I did not like about the Homido Mini
1. It does not provide an immersive experience. Let’s be fair here, Homido Mini is a pair of VR glasses so it is meant for a simple VR experience so I don’t think not having an immersive experience is a major setback.
2. You might want to keep the lenses clean and scratch free since it does not come in a box. You might want to store it in a box so that the lenses last for a longer period of time.
3. There is no cleaning cloth in the box, basically, it just comes with the lenses and the manual so set aside a microfiber cloth to keep the lenses clean.
Content on the Homido VR
I doubt if you could play many games with this but it is surely fun to watch 360-degree videos and experiences. That being said, there is too much content to view on these lenses and even if you cannot play VR games with these glasses, the experiences make up for all that is missing.
These lenses are intended for experiences and VR demos that would just give you a taste of how an app would look in Virtual Reality. If you want a complete immersive VR experience then you must look out for the other recommended VR headset we have for iPhones and Android Phones.
Conclusion
The Homido Mini is a nice, portable set of VR glasses that you can always keep by your side and enjoy VR videos even while you are traveling. Although the VR glasses do not provide with an immersive experience but they are sure as fun as they look in the pictures.
You may not get the complete immersive VR experience like the Merge VR or the Homido V2 Virtual Reality headset but you cannot underestimate the fun that you would have with these glasses. I bet, you would love these small portable VR glasses because they surely make VR look really simple. If you want to get the best VR experience then you may want to invest on the Gear VR or the Merge VR which are the best smartphone-based VR headsets we have in the market.
You could order the product from Amazon for $14.99 else you can even order your product from the official Homido website(UK readers).

Thanks for writing this review about the Homido Mini, and for sharing your honest opinion about the pros and cons of it.
With a VR set, I would imagine the whole idea was to get a very immersive type of VR experience. But I guess the other side of the argument applies when it comes to portability.
Great information here and thanks once more!
Shrey says
Yes, it really depends on what exactly you want from a VR headset. Homido Mini is nice VR glasses that are good for demos and VR experiecnes.

Wow, thanks for this review. I have been fascinated with VRs for a quite a while now and your review of the Homido Mini may make me decide to get one. I’ll definitely share this with friends who are also looking for a good alternative to the usual commercial VR devices in the market. Thanks again.

Glad that I could help 🙂

I was thinking about buying a vr headset but everything was expensive or too big. These pocket vr glasses are pretty good for the price and the review was honest and very detailed . For someone like me who just wants some vr experience without playing games those glasses would be great.
Shrey says
Yes, exactly, these are like on the go VR glasses which you can carry around everywhere with you.

Hey man, this product really looks interesting! This kind of new portable VR set could really change VR for mobile devices. The ones I know all are pretty bulky and not even close to as sleek as this. ut not too sure how it competes to other more high end VR products.
Shrey says
Well, you can’t compare it with the high end VR headsets since they provide a really high quality VR experience in comparison and the experiences are really immersive. But these glasses are meamt for small VR experiences and just to give you a taste of VR.
Carol says
Cool improved design. The fact that it is light weight and folds to fit in someone’s pocket makes it very convenient to carry just about anywhere.
I am glad to know that this design takes care of ventilation and that there is no over heating problem. The fact that these issues are addressed shows the thought and work that went into the improved version.
Shrey says
Yeah, no overheating issues, LOL. That is like a really good advantage of having a pocket VR.
Heather says
Thank you for the nice review on this homido product. I am starting to embrace this technology of virtual reality and am curious to check it out. I have two boys and they have been wanting one for a while now. They sure are reasonably prized at amazon and impressed by that, I think I will by 2 of them. Take Care,
Heather

Wow, glad I could help you make the decision. Do tell us how your son liked them!

Big review for a mini VR. Interesting little thing.
I would have to agree with you, that owning one of these, would be more influenced to view 360 degree videos/content than to play games with, but still wouldn’t hurt to try.
You give a fair unbiased review, and I feel like all my questions were answered. But how does once hold it? With both hands?
Shrey says
You can fix it on the phone and you basically hold the phone and not the Homido Mini. It is pretty cool how it works and just gives you a taste of VR.
Glad you are liking the content. Thanks for stopping by.

This Homido Mini looks cool and funky!
However, the main downside for me is that you’d have to hold it to use it. Even though it’s pretty lightweight, it won’t take long before your arms ache and you’d want to put it down.
It would be fun to use for quick demonstrations though, but for the immersive VR experience, I don’t think this is the best choice.
Great detailed review, by the way!
Keep it up.
Shrey says
You definitely cannot use it for a long time as you have to hold in your hand but it is great for a quick demonstrations and for small VR experiences. In the case you want a VR headset then go ahead and check out the Merge VR, Noon VR Plus and Homido V2, as they are currently the best VR headsets for gaming.

Hey Shrey!
I was looking for mini-portable VR glasses and these from Homido look interesting.
But I guess it’s not the same immersive experience you get with the high-end ones although for that price I think they really do the job if portable is what you’re looking for.
Thanks for the review! Very interesting! 🙂
Shrey says
Yes, if your requirement is just to use it to view experiences or demos then it can come in handy since you would not need to carry a huge smartphone VR headset along with you and these can even be folded and kept inside your pocket.
Harjit says
Great review. I didn’t know that you could buy VR headsets so cheap. I like the way you have weighed out the pros and cons of the headset and done a final conclusion.
I am very much into technology and after reading your review I may have to buy one!

Not a bad price for something so sleek and attractive.
I am made to think of that movie I Spy with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.
People want there gadgets to be small and sexy.
Big is not always better.
You have the right model for me. I love your website. Anything I want to get for my friends to help with there gaming addiction I can go right here.
Super awesome collection.
Shrey says
Thanks! I do agree small gadgets are sexy and this one looks really cool. Imagine pulling out one of these from your coat pockets, LOL. Amazing imagination you have though, thanks again for your kind words.
Mikael says
This is pretty cool – a pair of VR glasses that you can carry around this easily.
I would like to get a VR headset, but in general there are really big and clumsy. This might be a good alternative. Also seems very cheap. Of course as you mention, it might not be the same experience as with a bigger VR headset, so I guess I have to decide whether I want to go for a bigger, better and more expensive model. But this is just so cool that you can carry them around so easily:-) would wish they came with a case though, but that can of course also just be bought on the side.
Great to know that the option for a mini pair of VR is possible.
Thanks,
Mikael
Shrey says
The larger VR headsets are not that clumsy provided you invest in a good one. These glasses do not need a case as such, you could just carry them in a small pouch bag if you have one. I mean I really do not think they are that easy to break but still you do need to take care as well!
Brandon T says
I gotta say, the Homido Mini looks real cute! I’ve been so focused on the expensive VR headsets that I never even considered the more affordable alternatives.
That being said, I’m worried about whether or not this product is more of a gimmick. Is it something I should buy just to try out, or something that I’ll likely be using casually for a long while?
Shrey says
Haha, it does look cute! It is something you can try out ofr small VR experiences before you go out and purchase the big guns of the VR industry.
thebeardedbishop says
Thanks for such a great review! I had not heard of this company or product, so I enjoyed reading about your experience and thoughts on it.
I like the idea of how compact the set is, but like you, if I am going to go with a VR set, I am going to want something more immersive.
The size and flexibility may be an offset for that, though.
Great review!
Shrey says
Yeah, it is very easy to carry with you and if you want to show someone a few VR experiences then you can always pull it out of your pocket and experience VR.
Mana says
Hello Shrestha – Thanks for writing on this homido mini compared to your earlier reviews of VR I really like this one as it is more simple and compact compared to others. The drawbacks are not really much to worry about as this is mini and the price for it is worth buying.
Keep Writing, Thanks.
